Rosy Regards Birthday Card

Today's project is a birthday card that I made for my mother!  I used 3 colors of cardstock, the card base is cut from Colonial White using the Art Philosophy Cartridge, then I used Honey and Indian Corn Blue.

To create the effect on the Honey cardstock I used the lined stamp from the You Are..Stamp set(April's Stamp of the month) and Honey Ink.  I cut the cardstock 5x5 to create a mat.  Next I cut the Indian Corn blue cardstock at 3 1/2x3 1/2.  Next I cut the Colonial White cardstock at 3 1/4x3 1/4.

To create the flower using the stamps from Rosy Regards there are multiple steps.  You need 2 pieces of Colonial White Cardstock, on the first piece you will take your base stamp and Honey Ink at full color(1st generation) then on your second piece of cardstock at what we call 2nd generation, it is a lighter version.  Next I used the shade stamp and using the Honey Ink I stamped the first flower at full color(double stamping) then reinked and stamped the second flower.  What you get is multi colored flowers.  Trim out your flowers, now take your 2 flowers, get some 3d foam tape, the place 3 small pieces on the back of the lighter flower, you will now off center this over the darker one, as seen in the picture above.

You can do the stamp with the leaves, I used the Olive Green Ink here.  Then adhere to your card.

To create the banner I cut a 1x7 strip, the making 3/4" from each end I cut the tails.  Then at 1 1/2 and 1/4 I made to folds so that it would pop off the card.  The last thing I did before I adhered it to the card was stamped Happy Birthday from the Card Chatter-Birthday stamp set in Idian Corn Blue.

Happy 58th Birthday Mom!
